Health Minister Lord Howe launched a new international database of prospectively registered systematicc reviews in Health and Social Care.
The database called PROPERO is hosted at the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination at York.

New Updated CONSORT Statement

A new updated CONSORT statement has recently been published in nine leading medical journals, BMJ, Annals of Internal Medicine, BMC Medicine, Journal of Clinical Epidemiology, The Lancet, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Open Medicine, PLoS Medicine, and Trials.
The updated statements are now available on the CONSORT or EQUATOR websites

Alan Lawrence OBE, who helped establish the Centre for Evidence-based Dentistry and has chaired the CEBD Board since it was first established sadly passed away during the early hours of thursday the 3rd September.

The American Dental Association has launched a new evidence-based dentistry website. The website contains systematic reviews and summaries, ADA clinical recommendations and links to a range of resources.
University of York Centre for Reviews and Dissemination - updates systematic review guidance

Systematic Reviews: CRD’s guidance for undertaking reviews in health care provides practical guidance for undertaking evidence synthesis based on a thorough understanding of systematic review methodology. It presents the core principles of systematic reviewing, and in complementary chapters, highlights issues that are specific to reviews of clinical tests, public health interventions, adverse effects, and economic evaluations. The final chapter discusses the incorporation of qualitative research in or alongside effectiveness reviews.
